It has a much more iconic introduction in OoT because you can literally set up "Beneath the Well" and I'm sure everyone would love to see you tackle something like the Shadow Temple in the future.ĭo Disk 3 covering 1-2 tracks from Snowhead and Great Bay, which will have the best middle ground appeal to everyone. Because Snowhead and Great Bay have borrowed tracks from Ocarina of Time, you're going to essentially please Majora's Mask fans in a way by covering these areas in your Ocarina of Time album. Southern Swamp is near identical to Northern Village, Great Bay, and Ikana. We're talking about the Temple of Time, Trinrova Sisters, Lost Woods/Woods of Mystery, the domain of Goron's and the Zora. Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time share quite a bit of tracks. But there are many things that I would like to bring up. I personally don't want to see you close to anything like being burned out. I can definitely hear differences from Time's End, and that's a good thing! I really can't sing enough praises for your work, and you really should add a disclaimer that everyone needs to listen with high quality headphones for the complete experience. Perhaps another great bit of having to wait between albums is it gives us the chance to see how your musical styles are growing and changing over time. If you've only got so much story left in you for the project, then I'm perfectly happy with the two we've gotten so far, and maybe one final album. If you've got a lot more to tell us, I'm happy to wait for 2 or 3 new albums. You get the creative liberty of deciding how much of the story you'd like to tell in each album. The nice part of this project is that you are the author here. I know I personally would be happy to wait as long as it took to end up with a complete musical retelling of Majora's Mask.

I think one of the most magical things with your music is that it is telling a story, and isn't just a series of well composed remixes of favorite tracks from the game.

Terrible Fate launched as a companion piece to Oxenfree sound designer Theophany's remix of the Majora's Mask soundtrack, Time's End: Majora's Mask. Its re-imagining of the Skull Kid - now far more expressive than his original N64 character model could allow - is a particular treat. One might think that hyper-realistic textures wouldn't gel well with the more cartoonish Zelda aesthetic, but Ember Lab managed to find just the right Pixar-esque blend of convincingly real environments blended with stylised character design. Terrible Fate doesn't tell the story of the whole game, but rather its prologue as the wayward Skull Kid gets more than he bargained for upon pinching an accursed mask from a traveling salesman. Now that dream has been realised in the following video, Terrible Fate. Earlier this summer animation studio Ember Lab produced an absolutely terrific teaser trailer for a CGI short film based on The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
